Crankshaft stuck in kohler riding mower engine

I saw another topic on this but it won't load...I removed the flywheel, heads, cam, and piston rods, to see why the engine was locked up. I found that the crankshaft is stuck in the upper bearing, flywheel side. The crank won't spin and I haven't been able to get it out by hammering on it. How else can I remove it?

It's a Kohler Courage 20, SV710-0019. I have found the manual online.

Might try a heavy duty heat gun on the case near the crank..

    Or better yet a torch.

To break the bond, you may try clamping the crankshaft in a HD vice.
Then, try spinning the cover either by hand or tapping the cover SIDEWAYS
(in relation to the crank) with a block of wood/hammer.

We're just trying to break the bond at this point..

The parts diagram doesn't show a separate bearing, just the cover machined to fit the crank...
