1985 B&S 3hp

Hello, while attempting to fix an oil leak on the flywheel side I noticed some flywheel play, upon disassembly I found the crank has play in the flywheel side of the case. Was there a bushing in the case that the crank rides on? Because I'm not seeing one now that I have everything apart, if not I'm assuming my case is ready for butter (cause it's toast)
Thank you for your time.

Most of the older small engines didn't have a separate bearing.

W/O and engine model #, I cannot look up a parts diagram to check for certain..

80332-1652 01 I've looked at a parts diagram and the only bushing it shows appears to go in the front cover not the rear case. I just found it hard to believe they would have an iron or steel crank riding on and held in place by nothing more then a soft aluminum case.
