Reverse Override Switch

My Craftsman Pro 8200 will not cut in reverse. When you turn the ignition switch bach to the reverse override position and push the orange triangle button, the red light comes on but goes of by itself or just after pusging the reverse accelerator pedal. I think its in the ignition switch assembly and need to buy the whole switch for about $85-$100. Anyone else run into this situation?
