Craftsman 4 cycle engine oil coming through air cleaner assembly

My craftsman 4 cycle trimmer is leaking oil in the air cleaner assembly. The oil level is a little below the maximum. Plz see pictures for where the oil is coming from.

Oil coming out from the breather is usually the result of worn piston rings.
Compression is getting past them forcing oil out of the crankcase..

I realized that I might have added too much oil.  I had drained it to the recommended level.  Will see how it works.
