Kohler 7000 oil dipstick

I am involved with a motor swap as a late enlisted advisor. . (I know) plus it’s located about 15 miles away.
The motor is from an unknown donor and has a dipstick someone picked up off of something in the boneyard and stuck in the hole. The motor is like new, the zinc isn’t even scorched on the muffler.
With such a valuable piece of equipment, taking chances is just bad form. I searched manuals for a page with capacity listing
My question is, does anyone know if there is an interchange on dipsticks? If not, perhaps someone knows what the length of the stick is, or maybe someone knows the capacity when filling an empty crankcase.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, everyone for the informative blog.
Steph.

Can you post the full engine model # as there's many sub versions of it:

    https://origin.kohlerenginesparts.com/oemparts/c/kohler_engines_7000_series_kt715_kt745_kt715/parts

    IE the dip stick here:

In general, most engines, the full oil level (dipstick tube missing) is to the top of the hole in the crankcase.  Obviously you need to close off that hole for operation.

Post or just look up at the above link and look under crankcase.  It'll be listed there..
