YTH23V48 drive tension spring

Husky owners, My shaft assembly brake control rod Item # 64 on drawing 96043008601 does not have a spring item # 161. I purchased the spring however the hole the spring connects to and it’s other connection point are not visible on my machine. I searched all of that shaft that is visible under the machine and nothing found. Can anyone help me with this? Perhaps someone that has this machine and their spring is in place? Thanks
