Kohler Command CH740-3347 starter/starting trouble

All fine. Recently had a failed solenoid. Found on e-bay. bench test solenoid on starter. OK. Mounted starter, and reconnected all wires. Starter turned over engine, but not enough battery charge left to do again. Charged battery. Tried to start. Not engaging, and blew the 10A fuse. Should I remove the starter again and bench test? I'd replace the fuse, get the battery load tested (important) and if it passes, try cranking the engine over again... (Jumper box if necessary too) You can by-pass everything and put 12 volts direct to the starter and see if it cranks. If it cranks and spins over, the starter is apparently good.. . Scott Quote #2

An aftermarket starter solenoid or OEM?

I'd replace the fuse, get the battery load tested (important) and
if it passes, try cranking the engine over again... (Jumper box if necessary too)

You can by-pass everything and put 12 volts direct to the starter and see if it cranks.
If it cranks and spins over, the starter is apparently good..
