It would help GREATLY to listen closely to WHERE THE "NOISE" is coming from.
A long screw driver to different area's and to your ear works very well.
You really shouldn't even have to use that, just listen(and post back)
To check the starter, disconnect the main wire to it. Then run a heavy jumper, 12 volts to the starter DIRECT. If it cranks over, the starter is fine.
To check further (if the above works properly), take a test light (12 volt), and check at the solenoid.
If it lights up when the key is turned to CRANK, you should have power.
