Honda GX340 with L type 6 to 1 Reduction

Hello,

New to forum and Honda small engines.
Just bought a GX340 with the L Type 6:1 reduction gear for my concrete mixer. Arrived today, when I checked the oil it was about 200 cc or 1/2 pint over full.

My question is how is the reduction gear lubed?  My old B&S reduction had a separate oil fill.
My experience with other engines is that overfilling the oil can damage seals.

I tried Honda Support, but there was no email contact info, and as I live in Central America the Honda distributor here only sells autos.

Thank you for any comments.

Did you receive an operators manual when you bought it or is this info not available in the manual?

    Thank you for the reply,

Yes, I have the manual and the manual explains the oil level for the 2:1 reduction box, but does not mention the 6:1 unit.

The 2:1 gear box has a fill plug/dipstick/drain plug on the box, the reduction lube oil is separate from the engine lube oil.

The 6:1 reduction unit does not have a fill plug/dipstick,  it has to use the engine lube oil, not sure how(oil slinger/splasher/?) as the "Max Engine Oil Level" noted in the manual is close to the bottom of the reduction unit.

Manual also states "DO NOT OVER FILL ENGINE OIL"

I am going to start the engine, without the mixer connected and monitor the temp of the reduction unit.
There was a shop check sheet with the motor, said the motor was checked/started and everything was normal. I guess they did not check the engine oil level.
