Harbor Freight....79cc - wont start.....

Hi guys- new here so I hope this is a good forum. I have work on engines for ever but this one has stumped me! Motor is one yr old on tiller; I was tilling last week and it just stopped running- like you turn key off. It had weak spark so I replaced the coil assembly- set the air gap- now has hot spark. Still doesn't run. Pulled the plug and seems like no compression- I put a gauge in hole and only shows 5lbs of compression; pulled valve cover and all is working- up and down; set valve lash at .10 and .15; still no run and no compression- anyone ever hear of this? Thanks.

Valve lash settings you posted,  can't be .10 & .15  that is between 1/8 of an INCH.

Did you mean .010  & .015, more likely, but those settings seem way too loose as well.  What does your manual state for specs ?
