Tecumseh motor on 1998 MTD 5/24 snow blower leaks

My MTD snow blower leaks gas. Last time I used it the snow blower worked fine but then started leaking gas everywhere, out the primer bulb, and around the carburetor. I was told by local engine repair company it was the carburetor so I got new one and replaced old one. Still leaks around carburetor. Doubt it’s the gasket. Pulled carburetor and engine manifold it attaches to and do not see any apparent cracks. Can problem be in engine?

Gas has to go through the carburetor to reach the engine. The inlet needle is probably not sealing which means removing the float bowl, float, and thoroughly cleaning. Aftermarket carbs can be dodgy.
