Toro recycler 22" no spark

I have a Toro recycler 22" electric start model 02007, engine LV195EA no spark. I picked this lawnmower up at a garage sale. It wouldn't start. There was water in the carb bowl. Replaced the carb and it started right up the first time. The next time a day later nothing. I checked the coil, it is 283k, tried a new plug, sanded the coil and magneto, checked the shear pin, nothing. Any help would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

That seems odd, the coil shouldn't fail like that. Check the micro switch on the engine brake by disconnecting it then checking for spark. If it fires you have found your problem.

That secondary resistance is way too high indicating a failed coil.

As yes Roy I had coils on older equipment to fail suddenly. Drives me nuts to get one to working just for the coil to fail. Anything is possible with used equipment. Just the Cub I repaired back in the Fall with the customer just finishing making payments. I went to start it it ran a few minutes and died. Water in the fuel. Corrected that then the dang electric PTO bearing failed. It had been sitting for 3 years. At least I warned the customer go between that the PTO could fail.
