Hasqvarna Chainsaw 455 Carburetor Fuel Flow

My Hasqvarna 455 Chainsaw was running rough, then stopped running all althogether.  I decided to replace the Walbro 6874 carburetor and fuel lines.  After removing the carburetor I realized the problem was disintegrated fuel lines.  I replaced the carburetor anyway, as well as, the fuel line.  Yet, the chainsaw wouldn't start at all.

I wrote down the fuel line flow, but figured it may be wrong.  A video online showed how to test the flow with the carburetor out.  It said the primer sucks fuel out of tank through the carb, rather than pushing it in.  I connected fuel line to intake, then outtake to primer and tested.  I can't get the fuel to flow with the carburetor out.  It is also a new primer and I test the pumping direction as well.

Is the video correct, should the fuel be able to flow through carburetor when out and attached to lines.  I tried sucking on each fuel line connector, but can't even get air to flow.  Any thoughts?

I can attach photos if the need be.

Thanks,
Don

Need more on the 455 as that carburetor model (WT-687) isn't shown on the ones I looked up. What is the 455 product number and serial?

As for fuel path it should be pulled by the primer out the outlet side of the carburetor with fuel going in through the inlet side. Reversing the connection will not get any flow due metering valve being closed. Normally pumping the  primer will pull a vacuum on the carburetor metering diaphragm opening the metering valve via the metering lever.  If you can't get nay flow in either then something definitely not right about the carburetor.

I'll send that info when I get home from work.  I got the 6874 right off the original carb.  But basically what you are saying is that the fuel should flow in one direction with given the proper suction.  If I check each fuel connector, then only one should be able to pull fuel from a source.

Then carburetor I ordered, which appears to be an exact match is

I never had any good luck with aftermarket clone carburetors but the WTA-29 is one of the model commonly used on the 455.
