Tecumseh OHSK130-223828E.. Amperage/wattage output on Headlight lead

Hi guys and gals.  Brand new to this forum.

Got a YARD MACHINE  snowblower 13/33 with a very yellow headlight lens.  Thinking of upgrading with aftermarket.  Maybe grabbing a Bridge Rectifier to convert to DC and run LEDs. Before I do this, I was wondering what I can get away with Wattage wise. The stock Headlight is some Halogen bulb.   cant get specs on it other then the $40 price tag. but guessing it's not a 55w...maybe the smaller 29watt Auto bulb. Engine specs says 'Charging output 18Watts"  since there is no Battery on this Blower, is that spec referring to the Headlight?  There's no way the stock Halogen is 18Watts.
Thanks

SM indicates 18watt AC alternator output into a 4414 12V 18W PAR36 Sealed Beam Signal Lamp.

Can only use a bridge rectifier if you float the DC as one side of the AC alternator is currently attached to the frame where DC is normally grounded. PLus if you use a bridge rectifier you will need a regulator to stay with the 12-14.5 VDC range.

Yeah throwing a 7812 regulator in there is easy. Hmm this machine definitely does not have the par36 sealed beam setup. I have those 4411 on my tractor. OK so 18watts is what I have to play with. That halogen has do be bigger than 18w.
    Thanks

I don't know about being a lot bigger than 18w 12V halogen as there are 20w versions out there. But the to tell is to look up the current bulb.

Either way led will pull less current and still produce a lot of light. I light my whole kitchen with only 3 10w LED flood lamps.

PS Glad you change the 7805 to 7812.
