Tb110 wont start

I have a tb110 that wont start. I put new carb on has spark but wont fire with even starter fluid. Could coil be giving a weak spark? New plug tried 3 different plugs. Please help

Need the engine model number with this being a walk behind mower.  Yes it could be a bad ignition coil but there also possible safety switch, lack of compression, and sheared flywheel key possibles too.

Edit: I am fairly certain that it will be a MTD P61, P65, or P70 engine that was used on this mower.

I will get motor model after work. I have checked key and compression both seem good. It sat over last winter and was only used 3 times before that family member could not get it started again.

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I have a TB430 Blower with a similar condition
    • Spark - got it
    • compression - got it (95 psi and holding after 4-5 pulls)

Sorry 95 psi is too low for a 2 cycle to fire the fuel mix. The bare minimum is 100 psi with with 110 PSI being the prefer minimum.

Remove the muffler and check for cylinder/piston scoring. If scored them the PNC needs replacing which on this blower it is a the short block. It isn't too bad of  price for one as long you do own complete tear down and rebuild; otherwise, it more economical just to replace the blower.

After AVB's post I was determined to get this thing going if only briefly

I sprayed some WD 40 Spray and Stay Gel Lubricant in the spark plug hole

Having yanked my arm off trying to get this going , I took a step drill and put a hole in the cover and used a drill and socket to drive the motor

Compression is now like 150+ PSI

Spark plug back in and cranked it with the drill VIOLA! it friggin runs! Holy Crap

I have let it cool and started it with the pull rope so who knows

I'll give it back to my Neighbor and tell him if it stops working he'll need a short block or just buy a Stihl you get what you pay for....Oh and don't leave it sitting with gas in it for months and use the right fuel mix (40:1) not the 50:1 he was using... Prolly why the cylinder and rings are toast

Then most like it was a stuck ring but most times it is usually PNC damage as I have only seen a hand full of 2 cycles with stuck rings in the 10+ year I have been repairing these 2 cycles.
