What Hydraulic Oil To Use

I was given an old Snapper ZTR mower and it looks to be about 1/2 full so I was going to add some.  Would hydraulic jack oil be the same thing? It was the only thing home depot had.
Thanks

Welcome! To answer your question, don't do it. The transmission likely has Mobil 1 20-50 synthetic in it but check the manual or contact a dealer to be sure. How did you determine the unit is half full? If you overfill you will have blown seals and an oily mess.

I took the cap off (which has "Hydraulic Oil Only" on it) and it appears to be down, but not low.  I am glad I checked and I will call a dealer.
Thanks so much for your help & take care - Gerry

You are correct.  The dealer said Mobil 1 20-50 Synthetic.
