2006 Gravley 160Z won't run without choke on

Parked my mower last fall running fine.  This spring when I started it - it won't run without being choked.  Checked plugs - new last summer - looked fine and appear to be firing normally, changed gas for new gas - no help.  Checked for air leaks around carb - nothing seemed abnormal.  Any ideas?

He is right. There is residue left from last years gas. Add some stabilizer and run it through the system before you put it away at the end of the season.
