how do you stop a briggs model FBSXS.6272 VJ when running it has a yellow wire from under the flywheel and a red on a electrical box on the side  neither one will ground the ign

    Those are for the charging sytem and have nothing to do with the ignition. Can you post the model and type number stamped into the valve cover? The emission family information is of no value.

    it seems there should be a kill wire coming from under the shroud

    Yes there should be so you might need to remove the shroud and find out why you don't see it as might be just missing.
     
    Or it could those engines that the  equipment manufacture is using the anti after fire to shut down the engine. I have a few JD that used that method of shut down.

    If it is on a wb mower the wire would go to a micro switch on the flywheel brake. This is why we need to know what engine you have.

    I don't think has a walk behind as that is a fairly large engine, most likely on a rider.
