I have a craftsman T8200 riding mower with a 46-inch cut. I know the idler spring connects to the idler spring rod. Where do I connect the idler spring rod to the deck?

They'll be a hole in the deck and you should have a "hook" (part #12) in that hole.
The other end of the hook is where your spring will attach.

Thanks for your help SRTsFZ6. I lifted the rear end of the tractor off the deck removed the left tire for access to the shift mechanism this tractor has. If I could figure out how to post pictures I would. I cannot find the linkage this mower has anywhere. The three position shift lever is attached to a linkage set up with a 6 inch rod running to the front bottom of the tranny connects to round metal rod that moves in and out with the gear selected. I lifted both back tires of the ground they do rotate opposite of each other. I'm sure this linkage to the push pull rod in the tranny is my problem but cannot find a reference to this set up anywhere?
