1995 MTD Yard Tractor

Does anyone know how to find the model number on a yard tractor if the sticker is gone from under the seat… I only know it’s a 95’ model by the number on the motor - . It’s got a 42”deck

Briggs Industrial Model Number Location

I have a log splitter with a Briggs and Stratton missing the complete breather assembly. I need to order one along with a carburetor but can’t find the model number tag or embossed anywhere. Can someone identify from pictures? The picture will not upload. Sorry.

Craftsman LT1500 valve lash goes out of spec when blades engage

Every time I engage the blades on my Craftsman LT1500, the valve lash goes out of spec (loosens) and I get popping sounds. I adjust the engine to TDC, and re spec the lash, and tighten the lock screws down good. This happens within a minute of engaging the blades but no issues when not under load. Spindles seem to be fine and move freely. Intake and Exhaust rods don't seem to be bent either. I do have an aftermarket carb on there, could that be causing the issue? What else could be causing this and how could I diagnose/fix?

Kipor 3000 ti with rod knock?

I just got this for $50 but not sure I got a deal . .it is a kipor 3000ti and I got it running but it has what I think is a rod knock.  Can anyone tell me what this knocking noise is?  I took the valve cover off and all seems ok but haven't gone any further.  Thanks!  Ok so I cant upload the video as its too large but it runs and idles but has a loud rhythmic banging noise.  Ideas?!

How to immaculately clean a gas tank?

I'm attempting to resurrect a 1980s Honda FR500 rototiller with a Honda G200 engine.

I've managed to get it running (poorly), but I'm currently stuck on a problem the internet hasn't been able to solve for me.

While I'm able to get the engine started, the carburetor clogs fairly quickly. When I've opened the carburetor I've found gritty, sand-like particles inside.

These particles are almost certainly residue from the gas tank (which had been full of stale gas for about 20 years).

I tried to clean the gas tank by filling it with some pennies, and fresh gas, and shaking it all around. But that didn't do much. I doubt filling it with gravel and shaking it would clean it very well either. The residue is on there pretty good and it covers maybe 25% of the tank's surface. The gunk is a dark brown/green color and has a slimy appearance, with tendrils.

I've tried acetone, too, but that didn't get all the gunk off.

So my question is: Is there any foolproof way to 100%, immaculately clean the inside of a gas tank besides gravel, nuts and bolts, acetone or vinegar?

Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

P.S. I'd like to simply avoid the issue by installing an in-line fuel filter, but the gap between the tank and the carburetor on the G200 engine is so small I'm not sure that's feasible. I'd have to use do a loop-the-loop on of the fuel line to make the filter fit, and I'm assuming that would cause problems?
