HuskeeHelp!
Hi everyone,

I hope someone on here can help out with this problem. I recently got a Huskee lawn tractor (model no in heading). It runs well but needed a new deck belt. We put a new deck belt on it and now we can't seem to figure out where all the springs attach. It's pretty obvious where two of them go, but the third one is a mystery! I have the owners manual, and various exploded views (schematics) of this tractor's parts that I have found on line, however none of them show where the springs attach! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Is it the largest spring that's the issue?

The main belt tensioner?

Is it the large, main tension spring?

Yes, it is the spring that is attached to the cable that engages the blades. What does it connect to on the tensioner pulley assembly?

There should be a solidly mounted bracket on the deck with a slot in it.
That's for the non moving end of the PTO CABLE (That slips in with a retainer clip).

The end of the spring itself (part of the above cable) will attach to the bracket that holds the ONLY
moveable idler.  That idler, if the belt is installed correctly, will tension the belt when pulled WITH
the spring in question..
