I want too convert my k301 too electric start I have found a ring gear but would like too know.
If all i need too do mechanically is add the ring gear and attach the starter motor obviously I need ignition battery etc. But i think i know what to do once the starter motor is in place.

Also do I need a specific starter motor for that ring gear if so which one please

SKU 9-FLWRGSC from vogul manufacturing ill try put full link below.

I'm no good at English sorry just too clarify the 2 questions I'm asking are below.

1 too install the starter motor are the only pieces I need, the ring gear and motor. (I'm not talking about wiring it up just installing it in place)

2 do I need too use a specific starter motor with the ring gear mentioned above.

You'll need a starter relay, and a crank switch (push button or key) hooked up
between the battery and starter..

Hi
Thanks for your reply. Yes I understand how to setup once ring gear and motor in place.
Are you saying I'm right in thinking that all I need is ring gear and starter motor to do this or do you not know about that bit. TIA

Your correct in your thinking.

The only thing you won't have is a battery charging system-No stator under the flywheel.
The SLA (sealed lead acid) battery works very well and are smaller and cheaper than the
regular batteries.

So you'll just have to charge it once in awhile.  I'd guess to say you could get in excess of 20 crank starts W/O charging...

As for the specific starter, that I don't know.  Look up / search parts for the engine with electric start.
That'll show you the ring gear and starter .

I found your engine but couldn't find the starter on the parts list. You may want to e-mail that company and as
what starter you need.   I would think they would know..
