This past weekend I purchased a used TimeCutter SW(the model with a steering wheel).  While cutting my lawn, I noticed the mower was unable to make a "true" zero to the right side.  Jacked up the front and found the metal "mudflap" thingy on the backside of the caster fork was bent and hitting a bolt under the main deck, thus not allowing a proper fully extended turn. I manipulated the metal mudflap and the wheel was able to turn all the way.  However, when I had the wheel off, I noticed the caster fork was bent towards the inside, the previous owner must have hit something.

Should I just remove the caster fork and try to bend it back? If so, what is the best way?  I was thinking a table vice would be best but I don't have one.

In addition, while under the mower,  beneath the deck, fairly close to the bent caster fork, I noticed a small piece that looked like one end was dislodged from a metal support peg.  I have no Idea what it should look like.  I was wondering if it's broken?  Does it just needs to have the metal peg go back into the hole or is something missing the a screw cap or nut?

I'd appreciate any help and I thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.
