You are right on Mike. It seems the Stihl two stroke oil has a great stablelizer in it. I have no carb troubles the following season leaving the mixed high octane gas with no ethanol in it. Great product! Bluedenim

StaBil gets most of the press and works well for me. Saw a test where Starbrite's Star Tron product excelled. Guess it's who you ask. One thing that many people will tell you is to use Premium fuel. Better yet, with no Ethanol, but that ain't happening here in the Nor'East.

Cheers

My Dad got me on Seafoam about 45 yrs ago.   Once you open the can, use some & recap it. It will stay good on the shelf forever.  It does not go bad.  & can stabilize gas for 2 years (I have tested that).  I have even put some in an air gun that was gonna need taken apart to clean, but the Seafoam took care of it.

Not bashing Sta-Bil, but once you open it, best to write the date on the bottle, cause it will go bad by 2 yrs & can only stabilize for 1 year.

I only use 100% gas,  & I get my Seafoam from Wally world for like $6. for 16 oz bottle.

Two things:
1) Our shop uses only the B&S brand. I run it in my Harley from Sept-Apr.

2) If you have ethanol fuel, you are wasting your money. You can stabilize the fuel, but when the ethanol separates,
you will have stabilized fuel, ethanol, and water.

Our shop is a 100% non-ethanol shop. You should be too.

Finding non ethanol in some areas is difficult to do, though. My nearest non ethanol station is 30 miles away.

Thats what 5 gallon fuel cells are for. Ethanol is bad for everyone but the taxman.

Good for part suppliers like Jack's and OPE repair shops as well. Not to mention those subsidized from the govt.
Personally I use ethanol gas and have few problems with it. Mainly the "cube" carbs is it a problem for me. Which is the reason I use Motomix in my stihl. I leave the ethanol in my fuel tank every year in my mower from November till March and have only once cleaned a carb, and I live in humid Georgia. Might be 40 today and 80 tmw, lol.
