  • How to connect up kill/ground wire to the throttle control plate on a HM80 155128J engine

I have an old Ariens snowblower with a Tecumseh engine (HM80). I replaced the control bracket assembly and it has a connector for a grounding wire to kill the engine when the throttle is pushed down fully. I don't see a wire to connect to on the snowblower and of course pushing down the throttle all the way does not kill the engine.
I'm trying to find out where that wire is supposed to come from or go to but can't find a description or video that involves connecting it up.
Does anyone here know how to connect it and maybe a pointer to a diagram, image or video that shows how it is connected?

There should be a wire coming out from under the flywheel that is connected to the ignition points.

Don't have mine apart right now to get a picture but think it might be behind the plate the lower screws the blower housing is held on by. Unfortunately if it's broken or missing you would have to remove flywheel to access the ignition points to replace it.

OK, I see a white wire coming out of the engine cover. (see photo) It goes to a bracket where it connects to a black wire the goes to the Run/Off switch and then returns through a red wire which is connected to the lower side of the bracket. I think the red wire is connected to the case, which I assume is ground.
So if I run a wire from the white wire to the throttle control plate wire connector, that should kill the engine when I push the throttle down fully?

Hard to be sure from the description and the picture.

If engine will run why not just touch that wire to a ground with motor running and see if it shuts down.
