When deciding whether a engine needs bored or just rings, what is the maximum gap between the end of the rings inside the cylinder on a 99cc Honda?

As we don't know if this is a 2 or 4 stroke engine, model #, type- weed-eater, generator, outboard, etc, it'd probably be best to purchase / obtain the shop manual for that particular engine and check spec's there....

If just the rings are worn, no cylinder damage, you may not need to bore the cylinder.
A new set of rings (if the old ones are out of spec) may bring you back into spec.
