I have a Pro Gen Coleman Powermate with a 9hp Briggs.  185432 type 0606E1 code 99110949
The only valve adjustment I can find tells me .002-.004.  I set them both on .004 but was thinking the exhaust should be more like .006 ?   Can anyone confirm if what I found on that series engine is correct.  Thanks

Exhaust is usually looser than intake:
 
 
 
That's what I was thinking but it don't seem that way on this engine..

Looks like the .004", per the spec's is what they call for. 
 
You certainly wouldn't hurt anything haven't the gap slightly wider..
I'd probably try .005" and .007"...
