Helping a buddy with his CH25. Took off the valve cover and discovered one bent pushrod. The rocker arm bolt was loose (about 1/4 inch out) and so rocker was loose because of that. I’m thinking that may have caused the bent pushrod. I’ll look at valve guides and valves as well when I go to fix it.

What’s interesting is the new pushrod kit which includes the pushrods, rocker arms, bolt, and pivot. His old rods have holes in the ends for oil. Which a lot of them do. I guess the new ones don’t? The ones I ordered (correct part number according to kohler) don’t have holes anymore.l, they’re solid. It’s an updated design.

When replacing pushrod(s), do I need to pull lifter and bleed it down? If so, I assume it can be pulled without taking off head? I have a lifter puller to reach in there to pull it.

I plan on installing the new rocker arms first, then compressing spring with a special tool and inserting the rods. That’s what it says to do in the manual.

I just need to know if I should/need to pull lifters to bleed down.

Thanks!

I wouldn't think you have to bleed the lifters down.

They already have/had oil in them.

Do any valves look higher or lower in the head?
