Hi,
I purchased a used Lawnboy 4-cycle mower with a Tecumseh LV195EA 6.75HP
engine. It starts and runs for a few seconds then stalls out. I replaced the flywheel
nut and key, washer, and starter cup. I also changed the oil, and removed the air filter
to make sure there is ample air flow, plus I changed the carburetor. Still, I can only get
the mower to run for a few seconds and then it shuts right down. Does anyone have any 
advice on what else I can do to get this mower running?

There's a BUNCH of engines with that pre-fix.  If you can post the rest of the #'s would help..
 
With that said, pinch off the fuel going to the carb (fuel in the tank). Remove the line from the carb and place that open end into a container.  Remove your clamp and check for steady fuel flow, it should be consistent and not weak.
 
The changed carb, is it new, Chinese knock off, known to be good?
 
Once the engine starts, can you keep it running by spraying carb cleaner/brake cleaner down the carb (to supplement fuel/air flow)?

Thank you very much for the reply! I will try what you have recommended. The engine is a Tecumseh LV195EA-362044D. I don't recall the make of the carburetor but I believe I ordered it on Amazon.com. I will let you know how I make out.

Hi. I am looking to mount a motor on the frame/body pictured.
I need a motor equivalent to Tecumseh LV195EA-362044D. Can anyone tell what other motors are compatible?

The bolt pattern for those smaller engines are pretty much the same...
 
Just make sure your blade adapter & size of blade (say 22") is compatible. 
 
Briggs has been making a 6.75HP (various versions) mower engine for MANY years, that'll fit..
 
 
What happened with the potential fix of the Tecumseh? 
Did you check fuel flow?

Thank you! I attempted to fix the Tecumseh engine, and did test the fuel flow- which was fine.
The problem I ran into is that the threaded end of the crankshaft was stripped, and it was not 
worth the time and money to replace, which is why I am looking to get another engine.
