I have a Sears Roto Spader model 785–50761 with a craftsman tag on the engine model 143-155032 serial 5020 05071. The carb started leaking fuel out of the bottom of the carb because the screw broke off inside the carb. The carb has the number 93 5A8 stamped on it. I attached photos the best I could. I need to know if I can buy a new carb for this engine or find a carb that will work with this engine? Thanks for all your help.

I'm sure there are dozens of cheap Chinese carburetors that will work; you'd have to fiddle with the linkage. Just make sure that the two long mounting bolts fit the new carburetor. Measure the bolts' center-to-center separation distance.

Can you flip it over and let me see the damage better? Did you really break the fuel bowl bolt (sounds unlikely) or break the tower into which the bolt screws (by very hard tightening of the bolt)?

This might help if it's only the fuel bowl bolt that's destroyed.

Sounds like the bolt is broke off in the carb body but with the poster gone, who know's...
