2004 Bolens rear deck spring

I made the mistake of removing the rear deck pin without realizing there was a spring on it. Spring shot out back and I cannot figure out where the other end goes. On end went around the pin. I only see a needle and seat on the side of the carburetor, The exploded view drawing does not show anything. Now if you are looking at the actual pickup tube picture, I believe that metal looking thing on the end of the tube is where it goes into the carb...

This motor is on John Deere GT235 lawnmower motor# 350777-1137-E1. I just bought it and this vacuum line wasn't hooked up, it's on front left side of carb (looking at it). Does anyone know where it goes ? Could you please tell me so I can hook it up properly. There is a second hole in the ai..

Yes we are talking about the pickup tube and It should be clear but does the throttle cut It out. Looks clear but i cant blow thru it. How Hard is the tube to replace. Mine looks like Its all plastic and really jambed into that hole. What year is that edger above?..
